Virtual Gastric Band – How Does it Work?
The virtual gastric band uses the imagination rather than the scalpel to help overweight people to regain control over their eating and activity behaviours.
The purpose of the virtual gastric band is to make one feel full more quickly. The client believes that the stomach is restricted by the band so that less needs to be eaten to fill the stomach. It’s a process that restricts the amount of food that you can eat mentally. This is not a surgical procedure but a creative way of using your imagination to help your body imagine that you had the surgery. And since your body imagines that your stomach has shrunk in size, you now respond with feeling full quicker, and refusing to eat too much food.
This does seem like an impossible concept to many overweight people that have struggled for so very long with trying to remove the excess weight. If you understand how our minds work though, it doesn’t seem very far-fetched. When you use the Virtual Gastric Band program to help you re-gain control over your eating and develop a new healthier relationship with food, you gain a powerful ally for your weight loss.
This new weight loss program, the virtual gastric band, capitalizes on the imagery of the surgical procedure. Using your imagination, you will be convinced that you have had the band implanted and you will respond as if you actually have had the operation. Your mind is a very powerful tool for change and your imagination is the key to your failures and your successes. Anything that you can imagine vividly enough, your body will respond to, as if it is true.
By using the power of your mind, your stomach will feel smaller and you will find yourself eating smaller amounts of food as a result. The program is also designed to deal with and work through the reasons that you have eaten too much in the past. Whether those reasons are habits or emotions, your reasons for overeating will be resolved. Leaving you with the ability to build the new habits that will sustain your new healthier lifestyle for the rest of your life.
The Virtual Gastric Band is highly recommended for people with serious weight issues, who have a Body Mass Index of over 35 or so and are desperate to release those excess lbs.
If you are truly committed to bringing their body in balance and living a healthy life, this is for you.
How To Know If Virtual Gastric Band Will Work For You?
If you are reading this, then you have probably already heard about the Virtual Gastric Band. It involves NO surgery at all, instead, it’s the process that uses your imagination in a very powerful way to help you believe that you are going to get a gastric band installed. And your beliefs will help to foster the physical sensations that arise as a result of actually having undergone the real surgery.
After the real surgery, most patients physically feel a tightness in their stomach. After all there is a restrictive band placed around the top part of their stomach. If you have never had the real surgery, then you might not have all of those physical discomforts, and if you have had the real surgery, the chances of you re-experiencing all or most of them is very likely.
Because your body has already learned how to create those sensations and responses. So it will do what it’s called upon to do while in hypnosis. And you will get a replay of the feelings and sensations of what’s familiar. But what if you’ve never had the surgery before, what will you experience then?
If you have never had the surgery, then you will start to use your imagination to create the sensations that you believe you should feel. For example, how many times have you felt some emotion for a character in a movie? Even though you might not have had the same experience as that character, you could identify with what they were feeling and you might have even started to feel what they were feeling. Or at least you were feeling what you thought they would be feeling.
And that’s how your own creative mind works and will be put to use for your own benefit with Virtual Gastric Band. With the virtual gastric band, your mind, once it accepts that a change has taken place, will start to respond.
You will feel the physical sensations of what it believes you should be feeling. Whether you have ever really had those experiences or not. Your mind already has an idea of how you should be responding and you will respond accordingly.
So if the idea of getting a virtual gastric band installed is something that appeals to you, chances are you will be very receptive to the process and will benefit greatly as you have your own virtual gastric band installed. Once you go through the program you will not only receive the tools that will help you to curb your appetite physically, you will learn how to respond to your other emotions better.
What is Gastric Banding (Lap Banding):
Gastric banding is a healthcare procedure that is helpful in reducing weight for patients suffering from obesity. It’s is a form of restrictive weight loss surgery that is advised for patients with a body mass index over 40. People seeking weight loss through the gastric banding method are generally those who have tried and exhausted the traditional diet and exercise methods of weight loss (dieting, medication, etc).
Gastric Banding is a surgical procedure that decreases the effective size of the stomach, making it physically impossible for one to eat more than just a few bites of food at any one time.
The truth about Obesity – the facts!
60% of Canadians are overweight, with a high percentage classed as obese and suffering type II diabetes. If you fall into either, or both, of these categories then you know the health risks you live with each day, and this may just be the answer you’ve been searching for!
In England today about 46% of men and 32% of women are overweight whilst an additional 17% of men and 21% of women are obese. These statistics are increasing dramatically. The percentage of adults that are obese has roughly doubled since the mid 1980s. The Government have even gone so far as to encourage fish and chip shops to make fatter chips as they contain less calories and fat than the thinner version!
Method of Physical Gastric Banding:
A silicon prosthetic band, known as a lap band, is fitted on the upper portion of the stomach through laparoscopic surgery, restricting the amount of food intake. The placing of a small band reduces the effective size of the stomach.
This restriction is surgically implanted into your stomach and forces you to eat a smaller amount of food than you are normally used to eating. It has proven effective but is only available for morbidly obese people. You need to have a BMI over 35 or 40 in order to be considered for the operation. And then you need to meet some other strict standards.
The ACTUAL Gastric Band (Lap Band) operation:
Health RISKS:
A Gastric Band operation is performed laparoscopically and can involve complications, as with all surgery. Between 5 – 10% of patients will require a second operation.
This procedure is not recommended for patients suffering from ulcers, esophagitis, and Chron’s disease.
80% of Patients suffer from Complications with Gastric Band Surgery
There is a wide range of post-operative problems reported with gastric bands, and over 80% of patients will experience one or more of the following symptoms:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Reflux or regurgitation of food
- Slipped band
- Obstruction or blockage
- Constipation
- Difficulty swallowing
If these complications cause you serious discomfort your band may need to be adjusted or removed. This involves further surgery, exposing you to all the associated risks once again.
Once the surgical operation is performed, if you were to eat more than your new smaller stomach can hold, you will become physically incapacitated. The reason for the surgery is to make it mandatory for you to eat smaller amounts of food. Smaller meals will mean greater weight loss. But there is no guarantee that you will eat smaller meals, even if you have the operation. And there are times when those who have had the operation have overeaten and caused more problems to themselves because their internal organs were changed.
